KIDS MUSICAL
Adapted for young performers, and with a score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins), Honk! JR. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score. Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! JR. will treat your audiences to equal amounts of laughter and tears. Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother's protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be. Audition Information:Auditions are on Saturday, May 2 and will consist of a singing portion, which will be taught during your time slot, and a monologue reading from the provided material — please see link below for sides and choose one to perform during your audition.
Auditions are open to children between the ages of 3-18. Honk Jr.! will begin rehearsals on Monday, June 8th. Rehearsals will be Monday-Thursday from 6:30-8:30 PM, with some optional Saturday’s for set building and construction. There will be a tech rehearsal on July 11th from 10 AM-1 PM. Performances will begin on July 17th and end on July 26th. Performance times are Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2PM.
